Fathom™ Installation App

Fathom™ Install assists you with the setup and deployment of a proximity network of Fathom™ Hubs.

Fathom Hub deployments are organized into venues.  Before beginning, make sure that you have successfully setup a new venue for your Hubs. See how to Add a Venue.

NOTE: You will need an active Fathom™ Control account to use this app.

Search for "Fathom Install" in your app store.


Once the app is installed you are ready to use it to configure the Hub(s).

1. Launch Fathom Install.


2. When you are ready to install and configure your Hubs into the venue, choose the venue from the list in Fathom Install.

Pick the venue you have created in Fathom Control. In this example, we choose [Fathom]Trial Setup. 

3. Now take your Fathom Hub and plug it into power and/or Ethernet if required. Both Ethernet and wireless networks are supported. Should you choose to go with Wi-Fi, you are ready to claim the Hub as soon as it is powered on. 

4. Touch "SCAN" on the Fathom app and place your claiming smart device (ie. iOS) as close to the target Hub as possible. 


5. The Hub must be placed either right side up (ie. on a flat surface) or upside down (ie. mounted on a ceiling). Select on the app according to the physical placement.

Be aware that there is currently no support in placing the Hub sideways (ie. mounting on a wall) and doing so results in significant loss in performance. 

6. Now that the Hub is brought online to the venue, it is ready to be brought to life. It can be made online both through Ethernet or compatible Wi-Fi connection. Select "HUB SETTINGS" to proceed with setup.


a) Ethernet

Continue from step 3 if you have already connected the Hub through Ethernet. The configurations of the network to which the Hub is connected to should already be populated, assuming DHCP server on the connected network. "APPLY SETTINGS" when you are done. 

If you intend to work with static IP, make sure the IP is assigned and reserved in your network. Now go to the Manual tab and enter the IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS server fields. "APPLY SETTINGS" when you are done. 

Upon verifying the configuration, you can move onto step 9. 

b) Wireless

A wireless network is available for the Hub to connect to. Make sure in the Fathom app, the Wi-Fi tab is selected and "Wifi Enabled" is turned on. User has the option to automatically scan for signal or manually enter the SSID, in which case the network is non-broadcast and has a hidden SSID. 


Similar to connecting to an Ethernet connection, you can choose a DHCP to auto-populate or manually choose the static IP and network configurations. "APPLY SETTINGS" when you are done. 

The user can save network credentials and configurations (populated or manually filled) as network presets. The network presets are designed to be reusable, especially when multiple Hubs are being set up in one instance. 

Upon verifying the configuration, you can move onto step 9. 


Proxy settings <Soon Supported>

Enter the network proxy settings if they are in place with the network. 


After you apply the settings, the app takes you the previous screen and from there click "TEST NETWORK"

The app will show the verification process and if all goes well network test will complete meaning the Hub is successfully claimed to the venue, online and observing.


As a sanity check, always check the Hub's LED status and on Fathom Control management. On the Hub, the status light should stay Fathom Blue and solid. On Fathom Control, the Hub should be registered under the venue view.
